Emily grew up in Brussels and writes bios for herself in the third person cos it looks more professional. She graduated from University College London in 2014 with a First in Russian Studies, and now speaks very little Russian, lives in Portugal, and works full-time as a cartoonist.

In 2016 Emily’s short comic Bloodlust & Bonnets was shortlisted for the prestigious Observer/Jonathan Cape Graphic Short Story Prize and her comic So You’re Voting Tory was published in The Corbyn Comic Book by Self Made Hero in September 2017.

Her first full-length graphic novel, Bloodlust & Bonnets was published by Simon & Schuster (UK) and Andrews McMeel (US) in September 2019, and was shortlisted for the 2020 Comedy Women In Print Prize.

Her second graphic novel, Twelve Percent Dread, was published to acclaim by Picador (UK) and Dark Horse Comics (US) in 2022.

She currently publishes monthly short story comics on Patreon, her paid subscriber platform.
